From the cars we drive, to the phones we use, to the sneakers we wear, the technologically driven discipline of industrial design is constantly evolving the way we connect with others and interface with the built world. Alongside the design of these object and experiences, a core focus of industrial design is in the development of new methods and tools for realising innovative ideas of the future. One of these emerging tools, 3d printing promises products and experiences deemed impossible only a short time ago. To experience the discipline of industrial design, students will be hands-on with robotic 3d printing technology developed in-house at the Faculty of Arts and Design to manufacture a functional and unique lighting product.
At the completion of the course, participating students will have demonstrated their developed research, sketching, CAD modelling and digital fabrication skills.
You will:
Open to all students in Years 10, 11 & 12.
